Couple of finds Old Homestead

I worked an old homestead today on my uncles farm. There was a ton of pig iron and junk. I found a couple of copper pieces I have soaking in olive oil. I have pics of two things I found. The large gear piece seems to be zinc coated copper. I was using my x70 with the 10.5 hf dd coil. I thought it was a silver half, my heart was beating. The other piece is small and seems to be highly conductive. It says "Benedict Bros". It is smaller than a dime and gave a very nice repeatable signal at 6 inches. A google search shows that Benedict Brothers is a famous watch maker in NYC, specializing in pocket watches. I don't know how this part fit in. No coins, I was shocked. I was working a farm field that where the homestead once sat. I found some odd copper pieces, I'll post when they clean up. I found door hinges, large cutting blades, a small pocket shaving blade and some pepsi twist caps. Over all though, I have found that old farmsteads are some of the hardest spots to find coins. Seems the old farmers kept track of their money.
