Ok, I sure need a little input on some creek hunting I have been doing lately. Although I have done OK, all I have been finding is clad coins. And under the presumption that if clad is there older coins must be there. The creek is very rocky with a mixture of large rocks to gravel and silty dirt. I noticed today that the deeper finds rang up at a lower ID than usual. and when I say deeper coins, I mean in the 6 to 8-inch area. After I move a few rocks to clear my swing I can get closer to the 4-inch area with a better reading. for example, a deeper copper penny would ring up like a zinc penny. So now I'm focused on the whispery sound with a zinc range reading. I know I should focus on the sound and use the remote to verify. Am I on the right track? Any advice on reaching the older stuff? any other programs I should try? Oh, and the aluminum shards are everywhere.

Creek and river hunting isn't for the meek but with Ibuprofen and blue emu I can take it.
