Hope Max dont mind me showing his video he did on the 14th this month but i know how Critter loves the SEF 12x10 coil LOL ,by the way nice hunt Max did 2 Gold rings 1 very thin 10k with SE Pro or GT and SEF a lot of targets were 5 scoops or more.

Great video. Thanks for posting the link. MAN...Did I hear him right? 10 scoops for that clad quarter?! Even if several of those were misses that's still a very deep quarter for sure. And 8 scoops on another target (forget which) I think he said. Two gold rings is a lot of bling for one day in anybody's book, that's for sure.

Laughed when I heard his remarks near the start when he just gets on the beach about the 12x10. I might use some more "colorful" language to talk about how fantastic I think the 12x10 is. While the GT with stock 10" Tornado will hold it's own against anything out there IMO in my mineralized soils or sands, based on all the machines I've owned over the years or compared in the field to, the 12x10 is like strapping a turbo on it's abilities in all respects to me.

I feel if coils like this were available many years back, a lot of older Sovereign model users prior to the 10" Tornado or especially the 12x10 might not have moved on to something else for their particular hunting situations and styles in their grounds. When talking of machines as advanced in technology as Minelabs are, I really feel coil choice for the given conditions and day is what gives one or the other the edge on any given Sunday, so to speak.

Critter the 8 scoop find was the very thin 10k cracked ring he said it sounds very shallow but not to be 8 scoops deep he said it sound shallow because the ring has a crack in it . Very deep for a small ring like that . Jim

Thought he meant it sounded shallow due to the louder report perhaps of the 12x10? Although I know he didn't say that. Didn't pay real close attention as I was distracted with something else going on around me at the time. Yea, a crack in a ring will destroy the pathway for the eddy currents and give them a real sick sound and jumpy ID can happen too. I'm also stoked with how well this coil hits on on edge stuff. Dug a standing liberty quarter the other day at around 7 to 7.5" deep or so that was standing straight up on edge. Gave a perfect hit, and I've dug pennies or silver dimes on edge like that too with this coil. The Ultimate I was loaned banged me an on edge wheat with no issues too. Think it might be just as good as the 12x10 on on edge stuff perhaps by the looks of that. The 10" Tornado is no slouch either, I was very impressed with it's on edge abilities. Never saw that in a machine or coil before over the years.

There should be some thread links in the Coil stick thread at the top of the forum for wiring SEFs to the Excaliburs. Yes, all Sovereign compatible coils will also work on the Excalibur, and any coil can use a waterproof quick disconnect. Thread links on that in the sticky, and also check the Excalibur Accessories sticky, as I think there were a few thrown in there as well. Should be some video links in threads that show wiring a coil via just splicing the old coil cable, soldering directly to the board, or by way of wiring up a waterproof plug with either method. Tricky is finding out which water proof plugs seem to be better than others. Thread links should have info on that too...
