CS$ settings for deep coins.

Does anyone set their CS$ to run at high Sens. [8 TO 10] stable by running a Threshold of -35 or lower?
I've been setting up like this for the last several months, and finding many more deep coins than I did before with running high threshold and lowering the sens.
Last weekend I dug 2 silver dimes and 5 wheaties at around 8 inches deep or more in an old ball field that was suppose to be hunted out. I've hunted it several times before with the CS$ set up where I thought it was suppose to be the hottest and found nothing. I cut the sens. back to -75 on several of the deep coins before I dug them, and still got good signals.
I've tried the new way of setting it up at several different areas, trashy and fairly clean, and have decided that this way is much better for my area. I consider most soil around here to be good for most detectors. [black top soil and some sandy soil].
I've also used the CS$ sense they first came out.

I have decided that the only time I will try and push both the threshold and sens up, is when I am hunting clean fields in all metal mode, but I will be testing both ways in that area to.

I've run sensativity at 8 with a threshold of -40, but thats as low as I went. I usually set mine up at 5-25 or 5-15.
Thanks,
Mike

The standard settings I use "when possible" are sens 8, thresh 00, disc 50+/-, no notches, mostly disc mode, frequently switching to all metal to check targets. I will GB at thresh +01 (in all metal) then switch back to thresh 00 and disc mode. I don't really know what this does except give me a +01 response without a thresh hum. I'd like to hear others' opinions on that GB procedure that I use.
The only other mem setting I have saved is sens 6, thresh 40, disc 99. Almost missed a tombac at 6" at this setting- didn't like that!
I really should experiment with lower settings as being experienced with them would be useful in some sites. I do listen to a great deal of garbage with these settings.
Mostly coins, buttons, are found at 7-8" or so, except at beach, then a foot or more is not uncommon. Once found a merc at 9" running sens 3 due to RF.
One year w/C$ and still learning every time out.
Good hunting to all and critical comment welcome.

I have pretty hard mineralization here so I usually can't get over sens. 8. But I've never tried to put thresh down to -75. That sounds interesting. Maybe that would allow me to run @ sens. 10? Thanks for the suggestion.....HH, Bill

what I'll do is get a signal with my usual settings....then turn my thresh down & sens up. Re-balance & try the signal again. This is a great way to see what settings work best I think. HH, Bill

Let me know how it does. It sure makes the CS$ a much funner machine to use in my area. [All most no falsing, good depth, no problem with little bitty shallow trash targets that read like a deep coin, and better ID readings in my area.]

Nice button!!
I was running settings about like yours.
Never tried GBing the way you do. I like the settings I use now better because I spend less time checking bad signals and still get very good depth on coin sized targets. I'm getting more deep coins now than I did before for some reason.

I felt like I might be missing some deeper coins when I first started with these settings, but it didn't take long to loose that feeling. Now I would feel that way if I went back to my old way of setting it up.
Let me know how it does down there.

Kevin, I got my C$ yesterday and after fooling with it last night and part of today, I went out and swung it for an hour with 99 disc, thresh 0, sens 7. I picked up a pocket full of clad, but wasn't sure about depth. I'll start messing with Sens and thresh and see what happens. thanks for the suggestion.
