Chris and I went back to the old home site for about 2 1/2 hours. We found some Spencer casings and finials ther other day in the old plowed field area, but other than Chris' heart shaped lock cover, nothing else turned up there. I was hoping to find an old coin or two; I even tried cherry picking in a discriminate mode but couldn't turn over a coin. The place has never been detected before. So far we've circled the site out from the old foundations at least 75 yards, and have covered it twice if not three times. I got a signal, looked down and saw this protruding from the ground...

Looks to be like a well-worn hand forged grubbing hoe.

I thought the evening sunlight hitting this pile of moss covered bricks looked pretty cool.

Chris and I put out some finds from last night on a rock and took a picture. Chris did find a nice big "Mickey Mouse" lock front with English makers mark. The rest is the usual house site artifacts.

This is one of our junk depository rocks. We find too much heavy iron to carry around so we deposit in certain spots so as not to relitter the hunt spot. We had several such dump sites around the area.

Saw a glint of green glass sticking out of the leaves; was hoping the rest of the bottle was under this large spout but no such luck. It is thick, heavy, and full of bubbles. The setting sun pretty much ended our hunt for the evening. My excitement for this place is waning; like I said, we've covered it fairly well and nothing great so far but it is a cool place. Thanks for looking,
Vernon
