This is a must tho.......
Make sure you clean the detector after you have used it at the beach. Wash the detector all over with clean running water.
Take the shaft apart and wash all the sand out of it.
If you don't do this, you will end up with a detector that starts to turn white in places, also the shaft becomes a PITA to take apart due to the sand build-up if left.
