:csflag: I ordered a reproduction CS Artillery buckle from Hanover Brass....

It arrived today. It is pictured here with the original CS tongue I found a couple weeks ago and gives you an idea of what the buckles would have looked like as issued 148 or so years ago during the Civil War. Anyway, the plan is to have Leonard Short (the guy who repaired my U.S plate) to match the aged look and patina of the reproduction wreath half to the original tongue that I found, for display propose. If the lady will let us hunt her yard again, (???) I will continue to look for the wreath half in her small yard. I will also try to get permission to hunt adjoining yards in case the other half was pushed around in home construction.

I tired to no avail. I even invited a couple o' fellers in with thier EX-II's (masters with thier machines) but it jist wasn't meant to be.:sadwalk:
