:csflag: Some finds and a first - ...

Got permission to do an old site in the town where I live. Right next to a church built in 1824. One of the first things I found was this big presidential seal button.

I was surprised when I pulled this out of the ground, a three pound cannon ball. There's a good chance this was from the revolutionary war. Possibly fired and impacting where I found it or it was found and carried to this site and lost. My first artillery shell!

I believe this is the latching half of a VMI (Virginia Military Institute) belt buckle. Unfortunately I was not able to find the belt buckle.

I found this nice two piece button

The pastor of the church who gave me permission wanted to see what I had found. I kept the things that I posted here and left him this stuff on the picnic table. There's about 20 wheat back pennies and several interesting old things and a 1937 car tag. I'm sure he'll get a kick out of looking at. He said his dad collects wheat back pennies. I said "well then it's your dad's lucky day". Picture below is the finds cleaned up. Also got two civil war bullets from there. Thanks for looking

Great finds and I think you will try again, I always go try the second or third time and stuff still shows up. Thanks for the show and when my lighter MD (Garret 250) gets here I got a spot to check out.
My White Spectrum is a good machine but I can not swing it very long so I got to have two machines. The 250 I'll use for a rest period. Thanks again, Chukma-mingo in Texas

Sure wish this heavily gold plated woman's sash buckle had not been broken, I was only able to find a third of it.
