CTX 3030 Question?

Mike T

Member
I'm older with some health problems and I was thinking about getting the CTX 3030 as my last detector. I have very little computer skills and no zero about 'programs'. Is it possible to use this detector without ever connecting to a computer or having to make programs? Can you just turn it on and set the levels where you want and carry on? Can it be understood by someone with little or no electronic knowledge?
I read about you guys talking about this detector and I don't understand a word your saying.

It sure can. With some tutoring from this forum you will be successful. I would also suggest maybe an email pen pal who is already proficient with CTX.

Better yet, find someone closeby on this forum.....put your city here, and ask for someone to guide you. AND join a club if there is one nearby!

HH in your new hobby.

Dennis

you don't need to be super computer-smart,,,, but you will have to hook it up to the computer for up-dates,,,, it's not hard and should'nt stop you from your purchase of a 3030

Mike T,
When you described yourself, you were describing me exactly. I am in my late 60's and also in bad health, but I bought the CTX 3 weeks ago, as my last detector and have not been able to hardly put it down. I haven't made a fortune with it but I am finding things that I never did with my previous detectors. My dealer has been great to walk me through sitting up a good starter program and he has been there by phone for any questions that I have ever had and he seems tickled to be of help, along with Digger and others on this forum. I have not run across anything that they haven't been able to answer. I might add that I had trouble with my bad back with other detectors and this one is so well balanced that I have not had any problem at all with it. The extreme heat is the only thing that gives me problems right now. I also got the standard pack, with the wireless headphones and when headphones are needed, this makes using it allot easier also. You might want to Give it a try. I don't think that you will ever regret it.

Mike,
Dadzjunk was exactly like you. He has been a great pupil and learned it fast. If you have questions feel free to call me. Be glad to help you as well!

Great info dadzjunk.

Mike, Due to some health issues, I was contemplating the purchase. I got on the horn with Bart and he was extremely helpful. I purchased the 3030 today.
I have three hunting buddies with the CTX3030 and also one in my club. I was referred to the classroom here to learn the machine.
Go to YouTube and watch the videos by gonehunting73. He's really good. I included one below with Bart because it shows his commitment to his customers.
He will take your call even if he's busy. No need to worry about your questions, he will answer!
