CTX 3030 vs E-Trac

What are the advantages of upgrading to a CTX 3030

Hi,
Google this site:findmall.com ctx etrac . You will find this has been answered many times on this forum..

you type in the words CTX 3030 vx E trac on your computer and then choose the word VIDEOS at the top section you will find some fine folks have made videos to see how they perform.

Gary Gary Gary can't we tell him please please can't we?

Ha, of course, you don't need my permission . By know though he probably has looked at the past twenty threads about the subject. Any one of them could be resurrected to add more information.

Here's a brief synopsis: The E-Trac is about 90% of what the CTX is. Both are capable of great non-ferrous detection and able to handle bad ground, including salt beaches. However, the 10% difference in the CTX means a lot to most of us. The CTX is a couple inches deeper in some grounds (it is in my ground).
The CTX is better able to ID deep, on-edge, or mixed coins.
The CTX is waterproof so you don't have to worry about rain, waves, or salt air damaging circuits
The target trace feature really lets you see multiple targets at the same time
The CTX ergonomics are way, way, way better. I had to use a swing harness with the E-Trac but never need one with the CTX.

Some people have bought and re-sold their CTX because they felt it wasn't worth the price increase. Only you can decide that, but the vast majority of us who switched would never want to switch back.

Ok now you did it. In my opinion

I have years and hundreds of hours on each of these detectors

CTX is no deeper than Etrac
Etrac has better Target ID
CTX will let you see two targets at once
CTX is more stable under all conditions
CTX is more ergonomic I.E. Feels better in hand for hours
CTX is waterproof prof
CTX has GPS
CTX is wireless with the module
CTX has a lot of nice adjustments possible for audio and tweak hunting programs. Etrac is no slouch in adjustments either.
They are both very good machines but the CTX has more going on. If you can afford it buy the CTX.

oh yeah, how could I forget the GPS and wireless module? I hate going back to having my headphone tethering me to the machine. The GPS feature is really nice when you have a large, featureless area to hunt. It has shown me hotspots in my ghost town wheat fields that I would never have realized otherwise. Most people are yard and park hunters though and never use it.

Yikes. I am sure there are some rip roaring threads about that over there..

Not really----just "opinions" (same as here).-----As I already stated (over there)----I own/use 'em both (CTX & Etrac) and love 'em both (for different reasons).-------Del

Dont forget better recovery speed. The main thing I like about it. This helps with target ID and depth.

2 other things I would add are some of the most important. The ctx had COMBINED audio and the ability to set User button to "last program". The combined audio allows you to run an open screen as hear iron low tones and 4 bins of higher tones( which are all adjustable in size and pitch).
The Last Program setting under the User button allows you to essentially switch back and forth between 2 programs with 1 push of the user button. And under each program you hae pattern 1 and pattern 2. This gives you great flexibility in being able to set two programs and use say ferrous coin in the first and high trash in the second along with many other settings.
