CTX Discrimination Help

DaveMcC

Member
I just ordered my CTX yesterday ( yay! :clapping: ) and I feel pretty comfortable with what I was able to teach myself here and other places and I'm ready to get it and GO as soon as it gets here.
One of the last areas I'm still working on is the discrimination. I'm coming from a CZ-3D so I have nothing to compare. Can anybody tell me why ( and the reason ) you might have the ferrous trash discriminated at the bottom ( obvious -I know that ), but ( and this is the question ) have one line of discrimination ( or a block ) of discrimination in another part of the screen? Is it because that's where target trace pinpointed some unwanted signals and you are basically discriminating them one pixel at a time until you eliminate known trash --or something totally different?
Any links to read would be awesome.
Thanks.

Dave

I just looked at the manual again. Is it saying that I can have discrimination applied at the same time for both unwanted FE and CO signals, hence the discriminations patterns in the top and bottom of the screens? If that's the case then that makes sense

OK... I think I may have found an aswer to my own question! :beers: Did some more searching and found this link...

Hopefully might help others. :)

Remember that FE numbers are vertical and that CO numbers are horizonal. You cannot disc. Out only FE or CO numbers but only a combination of the two.

If you have a printer go to the Minelab site and print out the 66 page instruction manual. It covers a lot of good info.
