Any one else use this machine simply a s a turn on and go....it seems simple enough, but looks like you lose a lot of the machine's abiltiies

Do you mean as in using a stock program only? Yes, you can do that and have decent results, and I recommend all new users to stick with a stock program until they get a good foundation for how it works. Once comfortable, you need to start playing with settings to find what works best FOR YOUR AREA. Some changes may hurt your results, some may help out a lot. Best part of the CTX is its ability to be changed to fit you and your hunting.

if you like modIfy your coin mode a little remove some disc.keep in auto+ try ferrous coin,high trash and a couple of tones VOL.GAIN20-22 but dont take on to much until you have 1-2months under
your belt. set up 2 modes later on stock programs have a little to much disc. 4 my likeing but thats me. take small steps for now it will click as you get more time with the CTX.
