CZ-20/ 21 Chest Harness.

What are you using for a chest harness. I find the one from Fisher doesn't hold that well. It kind of flops a little when being moved around by waves, and on occasion the snaps un-snap allowing the control head to fall forward. The best place for mounting it for me is chest high inorder to get into chest high ocean water, but I need a better harness. Can any of you share your experiences.
Thanks.

Things are seldom equal, but I never had a problem with mine (Fisher). I use it with a CZ5 so there are some big differences (I don't get wet), but the snaps are little bulldogs. I find it a very satisfactory rig.

I've had no issues with snaps on my harness. In fact, they are a little too strong! The only complaint of mine is that it leaves a weird looking tan line... I've been using the hip mount lately just to let the sun make an even tan..;)

In the water, the fisher harness lets the detector float and move around a lot with water movement. I found it so annoying that I put the detector back on a shaft.

Here is one that I have not tried but looks promising due to the larger area sitting against your chest that may help keep it from moving as much:

Heres one I made out of a plastic trolling motor battery box and a carpenters harness...the thing works great, and also works on a belt for hip mount...hope this helps.

Mud, those cuts you made from hole to hole, are they bent to fit in between the rod/belt mount brackets on the unit head? am I seeing that correctly?....... Genius!
The same thing could be done with the 3d. Does the unit head ever pop off?

Nope...works real well...I thought it may be a little too wide, but it rides real nice either on hip or chest..I can hang all sorts of other stuff to it by drilling some more holes, like a mesh bag for treasure, flashlight, water proof cannister for keys and smokes...water bottle...I snap the rear suspender snaps to the lower holes, or up where they show in the photo...just depends on whether I am wearing waders or not, I mostly hip mount now, with a heavy wide dive weight belt that threads through the slot.
