I need to heatshrink my cz coil wire. How do I take off the plug connector off the coil wire the part that connects to the control box

I am in the same boat as you on one of my stock CZ coils. Hopefully somebody will jump in with great instructions. My plan if I don't get a better suggestion is to cut the plug with two or three inches of wire left and then try to unsolder the old wires Make sure you mark them if you try it so that the newly heat shrunk and stripped wires end up on the same posts. If this is a horrible idea, I hope somebody tells me before I try it. Please share what you hear.

Good luck.

Hard to explain but you have to push in the sides of the metal fastener and it will slide out...Keep in mind those connectors are awfully close together and hope you have the expertise to rewire after taking apart with good solder joints...If you don't hipmount cutting off part of the coil connector wire is feasible. Years ago when I hipmounted several of the heavy units I had a TV shop do a professional job when I pulled loose one of the connecting wires. Heck they can do it and check in a matter of minutes for professional attachment of connecting wires....

To all who wants to remove the cable from the metal plug holder wonder no more this will work on cz and coinstrike coils for sure .Put the metal end in a vise just like the pic shows, then you see that hole up hi on the plug you will see a little push bar in that hole this is the lock that holds the black plug into the metal housing. Now push that little push bar in and pull slightly on the black pulg with a pair of plairs and it will slide out. That little push bar is made on the black plastic plug and it will come out with the plug. I think you can just slide the black plug back in line the push bar back up with that hole and it should snap back into place. bayou boy.
