CZ coil wire question

Joseph in Alabama

Active member
Hey Guys
Anyone have a quick solution to unwinding a coil wire so I can chest mount...one stays wrapped around a pole for a long period. It doesnt want to straighten out...and can cause damage if not carful...thanks
joe

No quick solution I can think of. For one that has stayed wrapped on the pole for a while and not taken off frequently for cleaning, then my only thought is to take it off carefully and let it rest without trying to straighten it until you can get a good look at it and make sure the casing isn't cracking. Then carefully open up the wraps a bit to give you the length needed to chest mount it.
Good luck!

Thanks tvr for the info..couldnt remember reading anything in the past on helping unwind a CZ coil..slowly unwinding over next couple weeks is probably best..stay safe. joe

During the off season, if your coil cable doesn't feel stiff or brittle, you might try hanging it from the coil's box connector and allow the coil to hang freely and put some tension on the cable to see if it will straighten out to your satisfaction.
