CZ Coils.

Dose anyone know if there is other coils that work on a CZ detectors? I know they hunt in 5K and 15k, would a DFX coil work on them if i changed the end wire? The DFX hunts in 3K and 15K, has anyone tryed it? thanks flintstone/

Have not tried other coils other than the Sunray FZ-12 that was designed to work with the CZs. When I was looking for one of the FZ-12 coils I talked with Ralph at Sunray. He indicated that coils for the CZ were difficult to make and had to meet very tight parameters.

Sunray made the FZ-12. It has not been made in many years. When I talked to Ralph, it was no longer being made and he said they were not doing another production run. He put me in touch with a number of shops who he thought might still have one in stock. I ended up getting one used with a CZ5 package. I sold the CZ5 and the FZ-12 has been on my favorite CZ6a ever since. They are about as rare as hens teeth; but every now and then one comes up for sale.

Thanks tvr, i will keep looking for a used one, i might try a DFX coil on my CZ7a, and if it works, i will let you know.
