Just wondering if a couple CZ's hunting say 25'+ apart. Would thier frequency's effect each other?
 
Unfortunately, that's a sad fact of life. Running in Auto-tune helps a bit, as the cross-talking in that mode is a "swelling" of sound, like when you approach a target, except that it takes several seconds to build and then die off. In discrimination mode, you'll get false signals of all three tones (4 if you're using a 70 or 3D) that will not repeat.

I'm not Allen, but whenever you get two or more machines running the same frequencies, they are going to crosstalk and interfere with one another.

When detectors interfere with each other, they not only create noise. They can also have an adverse effect on depth of detection. I have even noticed on some machines, the depth suffers long before the cross-talk begins. Just another reason to buy more detectors!!! HH
 
I've had interference, looked up and saw PIs at least 50' away!

my wife will hunt with the CZ5 and we have to stay quite a few feet apart I would say a good 50 or so feet away from each other to keep the machines running stable.

I've also heard that the analog CZ's (6, 6a, 5, 20, and presumably the 3D) will suffer worse from crosstalk with other analog CZ's, same with the digital one (7, 7a, 70). When you have one analog, and one digital, the crosstalk isn't as bad.
I could have that reversed, where an analog and a digital crosstalk worse. It's been years since I heard that.
I've never encountered a PI unit in the field with either of my two CZ's. I have hunted with folks that use a CZ on numerous occasions, and I usually have to stay a minimum of 25 - 30' away. I haven't noticed a loss of depth when I'm within 50' of another CZ, but, I didn't hear about that until after I moved up here to MI and really started chasing deep iffy signals.
Minelab Explorer's will also crosstalk with a CZ, but not by much. I think you have to be a little closer to experience anything. It's been awhile since I hunted with someone swinging an Explorer.

One CZ not matter what model will knock the heck out of another even at pretty good distances..Also be aware two CZ's hunting in the same area seem to affect each other even if not falsing being away from each other. It just seems to hurt depth and stability of both.Not a scientific fact but just my observations from prior experience,,so much so will not hunt with another CZ partner..My partner is a Whites man usually so I have no problems.
