I know you have been asked this question before but I have a CZ3 love it and have found some cool deep old coins. Got the 10.5 and it is like a new machine. Loves quarters and nickels I am running out of room because I have so many.
I'm looking at the CZ 70 I tried a Troy X5 and in California I didn't like it. The depth the soft tone is nothing even near as sweet as the Fisher CZ3. And I like tones and a meter. I'm not a meat and potatos kind of guy.
I had a DFX and it didn't go deep but was a great detector like a vacuum just cleaned up.
I love to hunt schools and parks and like the fisher line of detectors just want to try different detectors.

I too have the 3D and love it.Read the post about the three Amigos, mtdoramike(I hope I got this right if not I am sorry). There was some info he gave on the 70.I have a EX II also and cant see the screen to good, this is a great unit. It doesnt fit me,along with the DFX not able to see the screen, good unit also.I am going to sell the EX II soon and get the CZ70,might even get the C$ too_On the Fisher forum I believe its on the other forum site mtdoramike gave the pros and cons on the three units he has, very good info.About eight weeks ago there was a test someone did with three or four detectors that this person gave good info on how each unit performed.I will look for this test.
For now I think I will go with the CZ70 and also keep my 3D,I need a unit so Nancy can go out and use with out much learning curve. Then I can get her using the 70 and get a C$.We will have all three for differant uses plus something for the grandson to use when he gets alittle older.I know I didnt help much, from what I have been reading here the 70 is a very good unit with a short learning curve.

great notching systen, 4 tone ID, visual ID is right on the money ( no pun intended ) water resistant control housing (CZ3d & CZ5 isn't) backlight for night hunting, great beach unit as well. Also has a relic Icon and a great relic machine as well.
It to loves nickels. Also its a fairly simple machine to use with a learning curve of about 5-10 hours give or take to learn the ins & outs of it.
Good luck if you get a CZ70, you won't be dissapointed.

You will find most ardent detctorists have several units and am sure a CZ70 pro would be a good addition.
