I finally took the 3D out on a learning trip to a older church yard I've gone to numerous times. This was only my second time using it, so I'm trying to learn as best I can. Soon as I got there it started snowing and sleeting, but I was determined to get in a little 'tecting anyway! Several years ago they put aluminum trim on the church and I've always ran into that problem with every detector I've used there. With the 3D in enhanced mode however, these trim pieces hit as tabs and trash. I was only half heartedly expecting to really find anything since I've used half a dozen detectors on this small yard over the years. I found the usual clad, but then got a nice repeating high coin signal at around 4 to 5 inches. I was expecting a nail or trash since it was shallow and I've hit this spot so many times, but low and behold, it was a 1952 wheat penny standing vertical in the hole at 4 inches! The soil here is rough on copper so it ain't pretty, but the 3D sniffed it out just like the claims say. I can't wait till better weather to take this to some old home sites around this area!
