I guess people just don't like changing the subject line. I can never figure that out either. I especially hate it when someone includes one or two of the absolutely stupid and worthless emoticons in a thread subject. Pretty soon, we all get to look at fourteen lines saying the same thing plus fourteen to twenty-eight stupid smiley things pi$$ing on a rock or whatever.

Did I mention that I think the emoticons are stupid and worthless? I should add childish and annoying to the list also. JMHO (add smiley face here).

hmmm sounds like you need to adjust your preferences - boards haven't used that view by default in 10 years. You should click a topic and see all the replies in chronological order and you just scroll through them. If you're seeing something like "treasure depots" board, you're not getting the best experience from a newer forum like this one.
 
Ain't that cute. This is my first post using those darn things. I may just stop typing and use emoticon code exclusively!

Because it's not necessary - it's like replying to an email and changing the subject line so they don't have to view your message.

That style of board has gone the way of the dodo....

In case you don't read the subject line: I guess I learned something. Most folks must like the newer version of the forum which makes subject lines irrelevant. Wow, I am being left behind in the dust! To me the antiquated view of the forum is just how I like it. At a glance I can see who is posting and have an idea of what they said (if they used the subject line).

I appreciate the update. I actually have two monitors running at once, a CRT for color work and a flat panel for extra space, and I use a DSL connection. So, I hope at least my monitor and connection are up to your standards. Golly I feel like a caveman after your kind words.

I guess it's about hooking up with people that have a common interest and enjoy the same hobby that brings us all to this wonderful sounding board. Emotes or not.. Viva la forum!
