Dap Seal 'N Peel - coil cover use

I just wanted to share that I tried using Dap Seal 'N Peel (got mine at The Home Depot) on my stock 10" BBS coil.

I was tired of pulling off the its' coil cover after every time at the beach only to find sand inside. Some recommended silicone caulk, but as a carpenter who has had to remove pure silicone off window and door trim when doing replacements and cleaning off old silicone from between tub and tile, I know how difficult this job can be.

I gave a product by Dap called "Seal 'N Peel" a try two weeks ago. After installing the cover on my cleaned coil, I applied the product... smoothing it on with a wet finger tip. After a night to dry, I went to the saltwater beach several times during those two weeks and afterwards only rinsed the coil in fresh water to clean, but not removing the coil cover.

Tonight I peeled off the caulk (simple to do) and was pleased to see that there wasn't any sand as there had been before. I'm definitely using it again. You might want to give it a try! PS - you'll need a caulk gun too.
