Dark Spot on Remote Screen

BroDoug

New member
I got my XP DEUS out this morning and noticed that it has a round dark spot on my screen about the size of a pencil eraser. I just put it on charger to charge it and have not turned it on yet but the screen is not damaged and it had been stored in my bag all winter. Does anyone have any idea what may have caused this? It was not there the last time used in September 2017. But it may cause me a problem in viewing complete screen. I will post another message after I have charged remote...

Not sure if it was 'bleeding' of the LCD or what.

It was still under warranty so I sent it into the US service center and they fixed it. It's good as new now.

Well, mine is not under warranty and actually I have had no problems with mine up to now. I'm happy that yours got taken care of. Good hunting..

I have one remote that always gets a dark spot after an update and I do as they suggest after the upgrade and adjust the contrast. That takes care of it. If that does not work for you
, then it is a service issue most likely.

Just to let you know, I had the batteries replaced on my control unit and coil as well. The price for both was a flat $100 which I thought was reasonable. Shipped back the next day. As stated, dark spot was fixed due to it being under warranty.

So repair cost for the dark spot may be minimal and if the coil and remote are more than 5 years old, it may be a good idea to replace the batteries too if you plan on keeping it for awhile.

After charging my remote the spot was gone off, but came back on the screen when I turned it on. The spot does not obstruct from seeing anything. The spot continued to be gone in off position. I am going to use it like it is this season and may send for repairs this winter. If anyone knows a US repair center closest to St. Louis, MO please let me know.

I did adjust contrast and it faded out but in bright sunlight more difficult to read screen...
Thanks for all the input... Just need an address for repairs in US...
