Dave Johnson presentation

It was a very interesting presentation but I did not see mention of George Payne, who my understanding is that he invented most of the features we have on the detectors we use today. They were on the original Technetics Mark1 back in the early eighties......Jack

Without George Payne, there would be no modern detectors as we know them today. We would still be using TR's and BFO's.
 
Hey Charlie: George Payne was with White's for a long time I think. Then he went with others to form the original Technetics where they produced a detector a way ahead of it's time called the Mark 1. I have a Mark 1 and an original Big Bud......Jack
 
George Payne worked for Whites, Compass, Teknetics and later Discovery. To list his achievements would take a while. Maybe JB(MS) will see this thread or Mr Bill and could add quite a bit of info.
As for DJ, it goes without saying that he is one of the top designers in recent history.
