Day two at the beach...

Second photo: Erosion caused by Ida at high tide...Three days ago, you couldn't see any of those concrete columns....
Third photo: Total finds....43 Quarters, 34 Nickels, 28 Dimes, 16 Pennies, 4 NYC subway tokens (no longer in use), 1 Peace dollar 1926, 1 Kennedy Half, 1 Susan B Anthony, 1979
1 earring, 1 amusement token, 1 bag tag, 1 Dominican Rep. 5 centavos piece, 1 charm "Danny Kane" and one GOLD RING, 14 K
Quite a day...The Infinium takes a lickin' but keeps on tickin'
 
Nice finds. I once cleaned up after Hugo. 1773 (If i remember correctly, it's been almost 25 years) gold Danish something or other.
sold it for 1200.00 (Quite a bit in those days)

awsome finds,,,read astory like that once called 14 steps,,, the fella had gone to this beach for years and walked down the same 4 steps he went there after a cyclone and there were 14 steps that the seas had uncovered ,, he found some awsome old coins that day
 
Wadda...same thing happened here. I estimated the erosion took 6 feet from the beach...there's a new ramp that was put in a year ago and the ramp going down was even with the sand. Well, now if you took that ramp, one would have to jump about 6 feet to meet the sand. Mother nature is truly awesome when her fury gets going. The old coins are starting to appear as yesterday I unearthed 3 IH's 1863,64 and the other unreadable. I'm also finding railroad bag tags which I haven't seen in 7 or 8 years. But you know, one thing that gets me peeved is that there were about 20 guys detecting and although I was about 15 blocks from them, the area they were detecting in looked like a war zone. No one filled in their holes and for this I was really embarrased. One way to lose our rights to detect is if the authorities see this.
