dd coils

The Minelab Excalibur II has a 10" DD coil. It is made specifically for detecting in the water both salt and fresh. I also use a Sovereign GT with an SEF 10X12 DD coil on the beach with absolutely no problems. I think someone has given you some incorrect information.

DD coils work great on the wet salt sand but so do concentric coils on the right machine.Size for size,a concentric will punch a little deeper than a DD which is useful for finding those deeper rings and coins. Both the machines I use on the beach have a 12" concentric coil and I find a lot more with them than I ever did with a DD coil.

DDs are all I use; dry wet, water, dirt, whatever.
