DD works a treat

The DD coil I made for my Goldquest works great on local beaches derived from volcanic intrusives i.e. basalt-andesite-dacite-rhyolite complexes. Using the mono produced a continuous positive response to the beach sand (layered with drifts of magnetic Fe). Deeper targets were very difficult to locate due to the monotonous slowly fluctuating ground signal.
The DD will easily indicate a mans wedding band at about 10 inches, this is remarkable since the Minelab Explorer will only reach down about 5 inches and the Sovereign 6 inches. These two units also give a continuous iron signal for the sand. Using the minimum of iron mask on the Explorer causes the signal to break up and depth is even further reduced to about 4 inches, although the signal width is also reduced, and consequently, easily missed.
