DE and JE mode

Hi guys

I was playing around with my F75SE this morning at the beach. I sunk a 1 gram ring flat at 8" , covered and packed the sand tight. I could only get the machine to sound off in DE mode in 1 direction only and that was with the gain turned up above 90%, was kind of sad. BUT! when switching over to JE mode and turning the gain up to only 40% she sounded off in any direction and only had a 6 point spread. I'm wondering is my DE mode sick? or is JE really that much more sensitive to gold? Can anybody explain this please?

I wonder how that works Bart, I was lead to believe that the machine operates at only 13kHz. Don't get me wrong, it does seem to be more sensitive to gold in JE mode, I just don't understand how.But it is impressive

That's why its the jewelry mode And the ID will be a little 'shakier' than DE. BP (boost) is also a bit shakier too, but super deep. Boost really makes the 5" DD coil into a monster in certain applications. And how it works is probably a proprietary secret that the engineer Dave Johnson is not going to disclose.

How is the JE mode on chains / necklaces, I understand it will hit in the foil /low iron range ....will the 75 hit on them.

Hi Rob

The F75 will hit on small chains in JE mode, but it doesn't hit like the G2 does.Then again none of my 10 machines will hit small gold like the G2. just my opinion.
