Deep settings from the hunt

My understanding, by reading the manual, when you use silencer at -1, the silencer is off. At 0, it's at it's lowest working level. If this isn't correct, someone please chime in with your understanding.

That's the assumption I operate with, however I always keep the setting at -1.
 
I used this yesterday for Civil War relics, and I dug the deepest bullets I've ever dug! It ran smooth for a while and then started falsing pretty bad, what could be causing the falsing?

With version 3.2 and higher thats correct. -1 silencer is OFF.
