These posts irritate me. First there was the big deal on The Compadre- so $150 later I have one. Now the 12X10" coil for my Silver umax. So, here goes some more doughl:veryangry::ranting::unsure:

ooooooh man, don't forget to buy a 7" concentric coil, just traded for one and it's great on my Eldorado. :wiggle:
I actually like it better than the 5.75" I had. It's destined for the Silver.
Oh yeah. I forgot about the 5.75" that I ALSO got for my Silver umax.:surrender:

Well, I dug a 20" target (a small rusted boat nail) with my Sand Shark today in wet sand. I would say that is fairly deep.. Terry

Terry,

Not sure comparing a PI unit with a VLF is fair  ........ Don't think digging 20 inch fox holes in parks is a good thing either. :goodnight:

I believe that the most important coil to get is not the deepest. The cleansweep coil is a 3 inch x 18 inch coil, and what this coil does, is to quickly cover large areas, (soccer fields, large park areas, etc). It's depth is limited to about 5 or 6 inches, however, it is my primary coil for jewelry hunting. A larger amount of jewelry is lost in sports parks, as people are more likely to lose jewelry while engaging in those activities. My Cibola with this coil has paid for itself many times over.

LOL! Never said it was fair HaRM - Just DEEP! - Terry

Bulletman,

I am a "deeper is not always better" hunter. I was looking maybe at a more sensitive coil or double d coil. How is the cleansweep coil in a cluttered park. Is it hard to pick individual targets. I know my detector will come with a 9X8 coil. I think I am looking something that will give me more flexibility to hunt different areas. Not just a matter of going deeper. I apologise for maybe being to vague on the last post.

The cleansweep is a double "D" coil. It is a long coil, and the signal goes into the ground like a wiper blade. It has a very narrow signal, and this can be a benefit when there is medium density trash as one can move the coil around a piece of trash to receive that good signal. The pinpoint is on the toe or heel of the coil.
