Defying All Odds
Posted 27 minutes ago
Yesterday morning Jamie said that based on Brian's high heart rate and high respiration rate that the typical patient had from 1 to 3 hours. She also said that Brian has been anything but the typical patient. But, she said we might want to let friends and family know that his time could be near.

As Jamie predicted, Brian continues to defy all the odds. His heart rate fluxuated from lows of 70 to highs of 180 and his respiration rate (normal would be around 20) has been between 30 and 40.

Jamie had put in a very long day and around 10pm or so another hospice nurse volunteered to give her some relief. Susan stayed until around 2am after putting in a full day herself. Thank you very much Susan, we appreciate your help. Susan said that Brian had stabilized and could hold on for several more hours.

Garrett's mom Tammy (a hospice nurse herself) said that she would watch Brian for us so that Carol and I could get a little sleep. She and my good friend Mark stayed up all night with Brian.

We had amazing support all day and all night long and want everyone to know that we appreciate them all for being here for us. They stayed until between 2-3 am and didn't go home to get some rest themselves until they knew Brian was stable.

Tammy said that Brian remained stabilized and that his resp. rate has hovered around 30 and his heart rate between 107 and 120. He continues to rest peacefully this morning.

Our little warrior continues to fight!

We want to thank all of you for your thoughts, prayers and support.

HE IS A FIGHTER THAT'S FOR SURE,I'M STILL PRAYING FOR HIM.............

Praying for Brian and family! This young man is sure a fighter and doesn't want to leave his mom, dad, sister and friends but God is in control and when it is time....Brain will fly away and be with our Lord of lords and King of kings! Just think what is waiting for him in God's Kingdom...a bright mansion, blissfulness that we can only dream of where he will run, dance and rejoice like he never has in his mortal body! His loved ones who have gone on before will meet him and be rejoicing together! What a blessing this is for all to look forward to when we see Jesus ourselves, some-glad-day! Prayers for rest, peace and comfort in Jesus' arms for each of you, Brian, Doug, Carol and Sarah! Amen! Ma Betty
