Howdy,
I went back to an area I tried a couple weeks ago, not the same location but close by. Last time I found a '49-D Roosie and a 1900 Barber. This time I found a 1907 Barber and a '48-D Roosie. Couldn't bag a Merc either time!
This time I found the Barber first near the base of a tree. At first I thought it was going to be a clad dime due to the color, but then saw the back of it as I recovered it and was stoked then. That was enough to keep me in the area and search more carefully. I found the Roosie just a short time afterwards, which kinda put some pressure on the rest of the hunt in an odd way. With two quick silver hits I was hoping I could sniff out the Merc, and I kept thinking about it in the back of my mind (well, OK, right smack dab in front). Turns out I didn't find anything after that but a bit of clad, so might have been trying too hard. Same thing happened the last hunt in this area. After I found the Barber, I burned up the rest of my time around where I found it, not really finding anything else. The Barber trap!
But two silvers helps balance out the ten Wheats from before, even though it took different locations. Oh well. The hunting days are numbered for the season now, gotta soak up the signals left.
Thanks for looking!
