ACE250 is a good first choice ..A good starter unit too begin with. If you like this hobby invest in the 1350 after becoming proficient with the ACE.

The 250 should serve you well in either area and you may not want or need to trade up. If this is your first detector stick with the 250 as your first purchase. The 1350 is a little touchy and has a bit of a learning curve and is not a detector for a newbie to cut their teeth on.
