Well, it was just too nice today to wait a whole week to get out again, so I went out during lunch to a spot that has produced and is nearby. Stayed with the 8x6 SEF on the SE, and ran with the sensitivity up around 26 all right. IM set to mask 22 and higher.
First good signal and target was a Roosevelt from about 5-6 inches, but picked it out from among the trash. Wasn't a super solid hit, but had some nice tones to it. Spent most of the remaining time just meandering, looking for concentrations of nulls and low conductors actually, then circling around trying to cherry pick some good signals. Picked up a couple Wheats, then it was time to wrap up.
Headed back and spent some more time around where the Roosie was, and then picked up a Merc not too far from (and a nice one at that). If I count the Barber I found yesterday, that would make a trifecta...
Maybe someday it'll happen on the same hunt even!
It was a satisfying hunt, and now I think I can get by a few more days at least...
