DeLeon and which coil,

I have a DeLeon coming and would like some info on the 4",5.75 & the 2- 7" coils,the Tesoro 7" and the X-2- 7" coil.
Which coil works best with the DeLeon in bad trash, lots of iron and rusty nails and alum.
I use 2 other brands, one with a 5" and the other with a 5.3" coil.
The coins that I am after with the DeLeon are from 1" to 6" range.
Some time the dirt has been box bladed.
Our soil is not bad, about 5 on a CZ and 55 or so on a MXT or F-75.
One detector that I have seen that worked good in these sites was a old 1976 A.H. Pro with a 6" to 7" coil.This is not a very deep unit, but works well at these sites.

i use the cortes with the seven inch coil and it works great at target separation.

In my area targets average one per every 4 inches. I've been hunting a site where a house burned down in the 1920's and the area was also used as a dump.

Here the DeLeon and Tejon both work great with the stock coils. The secret to a smaller coil is raising your coil.

Personally I no longer waste money on extra coils. Detector optimum operation was engineered for the stock coil.

Just my thoughts.

BJ,I think you'll like the DeLeon. I only use 2 coils for it. The stock coil which is great for most areas and does a good coverage. I also have the 5.75" concentric for better separation around razed homesites and areas where junk and good targets almost carpet the ground.

Glad to see others enjoying the DeLeon. I believe that James and Vince Gifford the owners of Tesoro would agree that all of there coils are compatible to say the least with their machines after all they are the manufacturer of them. I tend to shy away from some of the aftermarket coils due to the fact that they are not the maunufacturer of the machines and I do not believe they have all the information behind each companies electronics. Some of the companies take years to develop a new machine and the coil companies come out with aftermarket coils in a couple of months after the debut of those machines! And Yes they are all made in America. The 4" coil will get between more of the junk better than the bigger coils but there is a trade off with the depth of the smaller coils. The 4" coil runs $71.20 and I feel is a great investment into finding good stuff were the junk is. Most people loose patients when hunting trashy areas. Two years ago I found a .57 gram Mens 18K yellow Gold bracelet almost two full ounces in a hi junk area that our club has pounded for 30 years. It was 8 inches down and I just got between the junk when others couldn't. I was In the right place at the right time.
