Deleon is For Me

Tico

Member
I recently acquired a nice used Deleon, I have to say so far I'm very happy with it..
I
t's deep enough for me, has a pleasant tone, gives plenty of target info and works good in my mild Texas soil.

Being 62 yrs old , I'm taking my detecting and ,life in general, alot more leaisurely these days and the Deleon fits my style.

The jury is still out but I think the Deleon is my calling.

You get the idea, I'm liking this Tesoro stuff, it's hard to explain to a minelab user, isn't it.

Hey Tico, I understand! I too am in TX and run the Deleon. DH (my better half) prefers his Minelabs gear, but I am convinced Tesoro is my calling. It's nice to see another DeLeon user here. Where in TX are you at? I'm in DFW.

I understand were your coming from ! I am also retired and taking life easy. Don't want it to be so complicated as it was before. I was a White's user, I had the DFX and just started getting frustrated wondering all the time if I had or was using the right programs, etc...:surrender:. I then found that my detecting time started to get less and less. I figured it was the weight of the DFX. So I started looking around for a detector that would suit my needs. I found the Tejon and just started enjoying detecting again. I enjoyed the Tejon so much I sold my XL PRO, which I swore I would never get rid of:surrender: Then I brought a Vaquero. I now have two light weight detectors, that I can have fun with until the end:goodnight: Enjoy your retirement and your Tesoro for many years to come:thumbup:

Hey Craig, I know what you mean, I never though my Fisher CZ would be my backup machine either. Can swing the cz for about 4 hours then my shoulder/arm is toast,I think I can hunt all day with the Tesoro.

Deleon here too I am near Waco TX

DeLeon is working well for me. I agree that it's deep enough, enough info and I do like the light weight.

I can sure relate to you guys, especially the age (i'm 60) and the retirement part. I use a Vaquero and ACE 250, both are light and set so I don't have to dig deep ALL the time! I work the beaches out here in California and parks but sometimes an old home. These machines are great....after you get to know them. Haven't tried the DeLeon yet but soon! dan in so cal

I am with you on the Vaquero, feel the same way:thumbup: PM me with your location. Sounds like your in my neck of the woods !

Hey Tico....

I've yet to try any of the metered Tesoro's but the praise coming from you may have me looking into one.

Thanks Bud
Gary

From somebody that has used other Brands of metered or Display Machines, I have to say I like my Deleon. It does take some getting used to. I kind of wish my Deleon had a notch like the Cortes but I really like the Display on the Deleon better than the Cortes. Last Sunday I was only fooled a few times and most were deep crushed Aluminum Cans. Once by a Screw Cap and once by an Aluminum buckle. All the other times I correctly called trash or coin. I still can not say how deep my unit will go because I am intentionally cutting my depth to less than 4". The ground here is just too hard to dig deep holes.
