Delta 4000 coil upgrade question?

cadman_us

Member
Hello,

I bought my Delta 4000 (first metal detector) from academy sports, I want to upgrade to a 10" coil, everything I see online has a screw in connector, mine has a push in connector. E-mailed First Texas and they said I had the older model and would have to buy a push in connector coil. Does anyone know where I can find one?

Thanks,

Joe

Since you already have a concentric coil, your most sensible upgrade would be the 11 inch DD. It'll deliver more in-the-ground horsepower but you may still use the original 8 inch concentric for sites with a lot of steel bottlecaps. When ordering, make sure you get the right one-- it's the coil that was originally developed as an accessory for the Fisher F5, with the push-on connector, what the factory calls a "B-plug".

Sorry, I didn't answer your question where to get one.

Answer: any Teknetics forum sponsor will be happy to order it for you. (The folks at Academy, bless their hearts, will probably be clueless.)

I bought mine at Academy also and they told me they couldn't special order anything.......what ever they were shipped is what they sold.

That is, you ought to use your stock concentric 8" for general hunting tasks, and dealing with bottle cap and similar trash targets, but get the larger 11" BiAxial Double-D coil. If you want a little better depth or want improved coverage, the 11" DD is the way to go.

I love the stock 10" elliptical on my Omega, but it's use is for "general hunting" the same as the 8" I use on the Delta or Gamma. The 10" concentric is actually about 5

if you decide that you want or are interested in a used 10" eliptical concentric, let me know and give me your email addy since you can't PM here yet.

I emailed you last night.....if you didn't get it, you might want to check your junk box.

Brad,

Sorry for the delay, had softball games (daughter plays ) last night. I sent you an email.

Thanks,

Joe
