Detech 8 x 15 WSS DD coil

anyone have any experience or thoughts about the new DD Detech coil made for the Sov, E series and a few other machines?
Saw it being sold directly by the manufacturer on an online auction site for $249.
From the pictures it looks to be an elliptical coil.

I posted on the Etrac and Explorer forums too with no response either. Too new a coil probably.
It looks like a nice coil, just a bit pricey. Tempting though.
I'm curious how it stacks up compared to the 13in ultimate and the venerable 10x12.

I thought about it for beach hunting (coverage) but then it looks like the water will push it around too much. The solid coil design is a no no in the splash zone.
