Detech Chaser Bench Test Numbers

Tested a few items and the meter numbers are indicated below. The Quarter Eagle and the silver bar I bought years ago, not found with any metal detector. 2 items by appearance and weight appear to be gold, but they are unmarked.

Set-up: 12 x 10 coil, default Sensitivity, Low Gain, Tone ID, Relic program. Testing was done indoors, moving items at the lower collar, about 7.25 inches. Numbers may change if item is closer to or farther from the coil.

Thin gold ring no karats indicated ............................... 33
1945 Quarter ............................................................... 83
1944 Wheatie .............................................................. 79
Very thin gold ring 14K ................................................ 30
1 ounce silver bar .9999 .............................................. 83
Gold cross unknown karats ......................................... 52
1942 Fifty Cent coin ..................................................... 85
1914 Quarter Eagle gold coin ...................................... 55
Gold pendant .9999 ......................................................76

What size coil was on the Chaser ?

I have less than 2 hours on it so have just started the learning curve. Looks good so far. The manual is in "fractured" English so there won't be the assistance a well-written manual would provide. Based on my limited experience I think it will be an excellent detector. If I can reach the depths shown in the various videos, it may truly turn your old sites into new ones, to use the expression I've seen in advertisements for other detectors.

I have less than 2 hours on it but my impression is that weak signals produce a brief, clipped sound, rather than a broad but weak sound. But, this impression is subject to revision as I try different settings.
