Detech S.E.F/Ultimate coil for the Xterra series?

anunaki

New member
Does anybody know if Detech is working to develop the S.E.F / Ultimate coil for X-Terra? So many detector marks have possibility to run with these coils... :rage:
I always thought that Xterra series is very successful model and therefore should be in point of interest of aftermarket coil producers.
Maybe because VFLEX license circumstances....

Btw what about the next series of Xterra? Any plans for next year, Minelab?

I don't think that Detech is in the plan. Minelab only recently licensed Coiltek to produce coils for the Xterra series, so I highly doubt that they will give license to a competitor. V-Flex digital technology is not near the same as VLF or FBS, and proper development of coils for it is something that Minelab wants to keep strict control over to insure quality compatable componentry.

As for the next generation.......who knows?
The CTX employs certain aspects of V-Flex blended with FBS, so I would suspect that the next gen wll be a not waterproof, not wireless, no GPS offspring that won't cost an arm and a leg. But in reality, only Minelab can answer your question.....and they will......someday.

Hello Old Longhair, thanks for your point of view.
You mentioned the VFLEX licence, however Detech has license to FBS technology, either Coiltek. So why it also couldn't be with the FLEX, don't you think?
BTW, NEL company, which has not been licensed to provide the coils for Xterra, has problem, because Minelab made some modification. The NEL coils doesn't work in new Xterras.

Not waterproof CTX (and therefore lighter, hopefully) without "bells and whistles" for reasonable price would be very interesting detector.

We will see what Minelab give us next year.:detecting:
