Could someone who has used both please give me the pros and cons about both. Want to buy a larger coil and can't decide which one. Thanks

Im buying the ultimate 13" for my F75SE2.. Never used nel coils but i know the ultimate is awesome ...

I have no clue where to buy them...i know they are heavier which i dont like and mixed reports on how much better they are..i know on most machines the 13" ultimate is deeper, separates extremely well for its size and its super light..

Down under the Beach and Water Forum...

'Gold Digger' sells them and sponsored that Forum there... I'd like to try a 'Hunter' on my 70, and an 'Attack' on my Pro...doing fine with the Factory stock coils so far, just wishing...

I've had both the 13" Ultimate and the Nel Hunter. In my tests, the Hunter was about 1/2" deeper than the 11" Fisher coil and the Ultimate was about 1" deeper than the 11" Fisher. The Nel can be found for about $125 while the Ultimate is about $198. For the price, the Nel is the winner here. I'd never call the 13" Ultimate "super light", both the Nel Hunter and the Ultimate weigh about 4 ounces more than the stock 11" DD Bi-Axial coil.

The Ultimate is 12x13 size. The NEL of that same size is the Tornado. The NEL Hunter for the Fisher machines is not really needed unless you don't already have the 11" biaxle coil from Fisher. The Ultimate coils are very chatty in and around EMI. I have a DST model F75 and even in that mode, the Ultimate was a little jumpy with numbers and noise. The Tornado is shielded better...thus the extra weight. But it pays off in stability. Me personally. ..I saw better gain in depth and stability with the Tornado in comparison to the Ultimate.

Thats a good report..ive looked at the tornado and wanted to try one.. My etrac i had ran smoother with the 13" ultimate than the stock 11" pro coil..i could go alot higher on sens too... How much heavier is the tornado over ultimate?

Weight difference is not a problem. Have had them both. Found the Ultimate not to be water proof but the Tornado is. I have seen several Ultimates have problems when soaked with dew from grass or dipped in water for just a moment. Not sure why but let them dry and the stop the erratic behavior. The Tornado was the one I have stuck with. They were both equals at coverage and depth as far as I could tell. The price is also a big difference.
