Detecting and treasure hunting education..........

I did a talk for a local library yesterday for two groups of kids. First I did a talk on detecting and treasure hunting to the K - 2nd grade, then we went on a hunt for coins my boys had planted in a sandy area. They helped me with 3 kids at a time to find the coins. They sure were excited to see them quarters and halves come out of the sand. Next I went back and did almost the same to a little older group 3rd - 6th grade. Then we went and hunted coins again! It was a lot of fun working with the young kids, and a good time spent with my boys too!

We had 54 kids signed up plus a few parents attended and the librarians.

you have done so much to better the image and provide interest in the detecting hobby. I don;t know of anyone who has done as much as you have towards this end.

fun....guys like you who are willing to share time and knowledge with others. The "youngins" are what we need to be concerned about. There's a lot worse things a kid could get into than detectin'.

his could say Ambassador of Metal Detecting.

As an Ambassador he might declare himself his own country and then get money from the USA and other things to 'better his country's economy'. He could then make his own currency (all coins and metal of course) and then go find them with his detector.

Hope he lets me join his country.
