Detecting for gold

Well-known member
I've got a Minelab 705 , Gold pack , Fisher F 70 , and a Tesoro Compadre , that may be able to detect gold . Which detector out of these would you use for gold detecting ? What size nugget could be detected with these detectors ? Could one of these detectors detect flower gold in small quantities to alert you to break out the sluice or Gold Cube ? And , in your opinion , What detector would you recommend for gold detecting , if none of the above ? Thanks all .

705 Goldpack. Used one/owned one and found gold with it in OZ. Good little Vlf. Got gold down to taking 22 bits to make a gram.

Minelab 705 out of choices given. However, detectors will not pick up flour gold in small or even surprisingly large quantities. Think of them as "nugget detectors" and you will be closer to reality, although very hot detectors in experienced hands can locate small gold weighing less than 1/10th grain (480 grains per Troy ounce).
