Detector coming soon !!!

pescadore

Well-known member
Been away for quite a while due to economy and finances causing me to sell all my equipment. I just purchased a new detector and I am looking forward to getting back into the swing of things (no pun intended). It's great to have a place to share with like minded detectorists and I am looking forward to posting some new stuff soon !!

Looking forward to seeing all the treasure! :)

Glad to hear from you and also that you are getting another detector. Hope you have some good weather so you can get out and pop up some goodies. Good luck.

Good to have you back with us Stephen and may God Bless you to be able to get out :detecting: and find lots of nice goodies! Amen! Ma Betty

I bought the Troy Shadow X-3. I had one in the past and always regretted getting rid of it. I find that I will dig more targets without the display and the detector is so light I can swing it all day without hurting my arthritic shoulder. I also ordered a Lesche ground shark and a pinpointer. I sure hope it all comes in before the weekend but that might be wishful thinking.

Sounds great Stephen. The economy is a pain. Best wishes on the hunts when the detector is in hand. You did come to a great gathering of Brothers and Sisters in Christ who share the love of God and metal detecting...to my knowledge the ONLY forum like this anywhere.

God bless and HH (also send any prayer requests...God hears us.)

We don't hear much about these Troy machines. Is the Shadow X-3 deep?

I've settles mostly on the Minelab Sovereign GT and Tesoro Tejon. I just bought an old Tesoro Cutlass II uMax from another member. It should come tomorrow.

I think that in my soil the Troy Shadow X-3 is very good on depth. It does not have a manual ground balance (you have to get the X-5 for that) but it is really stable and deep around here. It is really hot on nickels and gold. It will airtest a nickel around 15 inches +. With the last one I had, I dug dimes at around 8 inches deep and that's pretty good around here. I like the fact that it is very light because I have arthritis in my shoulder. I like the nickel switch and the zinc switch because I am primarily a coinshooter. I can set the disc just allowing nickels and if it goes silent when the switch is flipped it is almost always a nickel. I have found more nickels with the X-3 than any other machine I have ever had and I have had a lot of different machines. I have met Troy personally and I know that he puts the best components in his machines and the X-3 is water resistant so if you get caught in a rainstorm it is not damaged. He is also very available if you have any kind of problem. What other detector can you buy that you can pick up the phone and speak to the guy who designed it. I spoke with him last week and he is hoping to get his new detector out around April or May of this year. I am going to start saving up now and get one when they come out. I can't speak for the performance of the X-3 in any other soil, but in Northeast Texas it performs very well.

Hope you like this forum. The troy series are good machines. The X5 goes deep, but I can't answer about the others.

God bless.

Those are great depths indeed!

Tesoros are also very good on nickels.

Not many machines are deep on dimes (silver in general). Most hit harder on nickels and the copper alloys.
