Detector kit...........

Greg, you are far better prepared than I am. One thing I am going to add to my detecting trips is a canister of bear spray. In the early autumn, a large, nasty looking pitbull walked briskly in my direction while dragging about 8 foot of large chain attached to his thick collar. Surprised me, but he was on a mission and walked right on by without even looking at me. However, I nearly pooped myself, so perhaps I will add toilet paper to my list of things too.

Extra set of Headphones, my Sun-Ray wall charger and lso car charger, power converter, mini fridge (to keep beverages nice and cold), extra arm cup,and tape(electrical or duct).

One thing I need to add to my setup is a magnet, helps to retrieve those in the way little bits or verify a whatzit as not a nugget, but maybe a meteorite. A compass is also good for field testing meteorites or if you get lost and the GPS died.

Large Rambo digging knife, long thin screwdriver for probing, flashlight. A bandana for when the sun is hot or it's windy. Newspaper, aluminum foil to wrap fragile things or keep dirt out of the car interior, plastic grocery sacks for trash bags. Insect repellant, sunscreen, snakebite kit, depending on where you're going and conditions there. 2-way FRS radios when hunting with a partner in different places in the wilds.

Most all of my items pack in a largish fanny pack. It all goes in a cardboard flat, I bring only what's needed in the pack when I hunt.

For our more major trips that included camping and collecting supplies, I printed out a checklist on the computer. We also kept track of what we actually used out of all the "stuff" we brought.

And don't forget to bring the detector!! ;)

Hey Greg, How about some water? Some Wipe all's from Home depot. Those are the wet wipes that have some texture that are the best for cleaning your hands and equipment. Some 100% DEET (if you can dodge the cancer aspect) for those nasty blood suckers in the spring. Hope this helps.
