Detector Question

My current situation af not having a back up detector has me wondering about having a second unit. If so I would have 2 choices. Buy a second etp or upgrade to another model.

What do you guys think would be the next step up from an ETP. I mostly coinshoot in old yards and fields where I can locate old house sites.

Depends do you want another TID unit or just a tone only . I just recently traded for a Eurotech Pro Hope I am not disappointed but I have heard a lot of good about them Just have to take the time to learn the tones and Id numbers I am so use to my ATPro that it could be a tad confusing or Maybe not

what coils do you have? If you already have multiple coils pick up a used omega and share coils. If you don't have a small coil for the same price you could pick up a compadre for tot lotting. If you just want a cheap and not left without a beeper the tracker 4 from hobby lobby for $65 is a nice option. Lot's of things consider but if you update sounds like you'll want a good multi-tone shooter and I don't think the omega can be beat in this segment.

I suggest you to look for a used G2 or GBP.

You can use the G2/GBP coils on the ETP.

So if you buy the 5" DD sniper coil, you can use it on both machine, for instance.

Another advantage is that you would have both a LOW freq detector, and a HIGH freq detector in your arsenal.

Add the fact that the G2/GBP do have manual ground balance, so that you will be able to cover many situations in the hobby without the need to change detectors for years.

Nick is so right. I have the GBPro and love it! It is my go to detector now for sure! The G2/GBPro is an amazing machine. I'm getting a ETPro as my backup/machine for my fianc

You're welcome.

That's the combo I use now, and, besides good finds, it has brought something very important back during my outings : TONS of FUN !!
