Detector vs Dollar

vernt

New member
Sorry for such basic questions but this is the level that I'm at.
I'm considering getting a PI detector but cost is a consideration. The detectors I've been looking at (which seem to be very popular and at the extreme of my price range)are the DetectorPro Pulse (most expensive), Whites Surf PI PRO (next expensive), Garret HH Mark II (next), and the Tesoro Sand Shark (least). Would this also be in decending order of performance? I'd be using the detector for dry and wet sand, and some stomach high surf hunting. What do you suggest?Which would give the best bang for the buck? I'd appreciate any other information. Thanks.

I've used the White's and Tesoro.... almost identical in performance.

Tesoro does give you a VCO and the ability to change loops.
