DetectorPro Uniprobe

bulkness

New member
Does anyone know if the DetectorPro Uniprobe will work along with the CTX? New to the hobby. I will later post a list of items I plan to purchase. Thanks in advance Tony

Yes they work. You may have to use an adapter to have the external speaker shut off or you can do a mod to the headphone jack module.

The probe works great and goes deep. Like the sound of my sunray golds better though

You WILL need the Radio Shack adapter to work with the CTX, or modify the cabling, otherwise it works great. I clip the WM-10 Module to the headphones headband so it is out of the way. I laugh at myself sometimes because like pavlov's dog I still find myself trained to think I can't move too far away from the detector until I realize again that I am not bound by such things any more !!! Hahaha

I use one with my CTX and the one I use is built into the headphones, not the pocket uni probe and really love it and works great. I made a short cord for mine so the headphones plug into it and this cord plugs into the CTX and it works good and the speaker will shut off when I plug it in. Now I wonder being the headphone cord is replaceable in the Field and Detector pro makes the Uni Probe replacement cord if they don't make one for the CTX or could make one so you will not need a adapter??? Maybe someone should check with Gary at Detector Pro.

The last time I mentioned this to Gary, I don't believe he was going to be offering a custom made one for the CTX.

I called DetectorPro today and the Uniprobe works with the wireless unit but a mono to stereo or it's the other way around, I forgot, is needed when plugged into the unit.

Yes, we all discovered the need for the adapter pretty quick when us early adopters received our CTX...You need a Radio Shack part number 274-0360 - found by searching this forum back to eight months ago.
I suppose one of these days I will make my own cord to eliminate the need for it but since it is so out of the way for me I never think twice about it.
