I just got ahold of a X Pointer last week from Gold Digger and I got to use it three times for a total of about 12 hours. I compared it to my Pro Pointer and found the vibration to be slightly less and the sound about the same. I did not do any measured tests as they are all over youtube, but in the ground, I am getting over an inch more depth. I can get a beep on a coin about 3 inches deep. The first day I used it, I was getting random beeps when I turned it on. After ten minutes and changing the battery, I discovered the problem. Operator error. I was not tightning the battery cap down enough. When I finally figured this out, it performed flawlessly. I have two sets of headphones, one I use with my Explorer and the other with my MX5. The one set has extreme noise blocking capabilities and I had a hard time hearing the beeps, but I could hear them without removing one side of my phones. On the other set, I had no problem hearing them. As I said earlier, the vibration is slightly less. After 6 hours with the x pointer, I was completely adjusted to both the sound and vibration. It did interfere with both detectors, but if you moved your coil about three feet away, it was OK. The MX5 has a suspend feature so it was a none issue there. So far as build quality, it is top notch, but only a year or so of hard use, will I say it is built like a Pro Pointer. The light on this thing is actually something you can use. It really does light up the hole better than any of the others period! With all this said, I will say the X pointer is on par with the others, but one important factor is the price. 89.95 blows the others away. I like it, but I haven't sold my Pro Pointer yet.
