Deus at The CW Camp

Prodigy

New member
Let’s try this again lol Got our with the Deus to the CW Camp and did surprisingly well with my first Sharps, First Lettered Eagle Button, an extremely old Tombac Button, and a beautiful local Sutlers token. I was running 7Khz and Reactivity of 2 with 92 sensitivity most of the day. When I got to the high iron, I cut the sensitivity to 88 and moved to 2.5 and it was like a totally new machine. Absolutely pierced through the iron to get the eagle cuff and the CW token. Thanks and HH!

For a new Deus user, you did GREAT!!
Love tokens and that one is a special find.
I'll bet you opened brand X's eyes with those finds...LOL
Congrats

You did very well with the Deus. Especially being a new Deus User? Well Done on the CW finds and the CW token. The more I see and read, folks are continually doing very well with the Deus on CW sites.

I’ve just been going off the mentality...if it beeps and it’s repeatable when I turn 90, DIG IT!! Calabash talks about the myth of the 90 degree turn. If I turn 90, and it’s even slightly there in the same spot...it’s coming out. If my pinpoint moves when I turn 90, I pass. If not hitting when I turn 90, it better be hitting hard the original way. Yeah I dig more iron with the deus than any machine I’ve ever used BUT...each hole is a learning experience and that’s part of the relic game. It’s been such a fun machine to learn. By far the smartest machine I’ve ever used while also being simple to understand. You look at a CTX and yeah it’s smart but it’s also complex. I just can’t wait to hit some more fields with this thing

I found the CTX very easy to understand with a very useful information screen and wonderful Minelab tones. For good or bad there is much less consensus on how to run the Deus than there is with a CTX.

What I couldn't handle with the CTX was the weight for long hunting sessions. Old injured shoulders much prefer the Deus; the elliptical is about as light as it gets for swinging a higher end detector.

They are both great machines; I really like my Deus but some days I wish I still had the CTX (for about an hour).

.

You aren’t kidding. Calabash was one of the few if not only American Channel I could find on how to run the Deus. The Deus really only has 6 or so different setting adjustments. I can’t even count how many the CTX has plus sub settings within the settings.

I do believe once you understand what each setting does on any machine, you can effectively use it. The issue with the Deus at first became the terminology like “Reactivity” and “Silencer” and “TX Power”, whereas most other machines have common terminology like “Discrimination” and “Sensitivity”.
