Deus driving my Whites TRX pinpointer crazy, what to do?,,,

Which freq causes the most problems? Is your sens high? Do you place your detector at a right angle from your hole? What symptoms are you having?

Hey Frank, let me guess -- you're hunting in 12 kHz? Guess what? The TRX uses 12 kHz (or close enough). :) Mine goes berserk, too. Since I use 4 kHz a lot, too, I have a 4 kHz program adjacent to my favorite 12 kHz program, and I just flip over to the 4 kHz program before I use the pinpointer. Sometimes I still get a slight bit of interference through the headphones, but typically not, especially if I put the detector an arm's length away.

I've not checked to see if 8 kHz or 18 kHz still has the issue yet. So can't speak to that.

If that doesn't solve it, please let us know!
Thanks,
Rich

One other quick thought -- and I think I tried this and it worked, but I'd have to test it again -- if you do the freq shift, I think it was enough of a change that it stopped the interference. That may be easier/better for you if you don't want to change to another program entirely. [lsm, I think we were posting at the exact same time! I think it may work. Will have to test to confirm]

Just an alternate observation but I use the TRX and Deus together with no issues on any frequency with sensitivity in low to mid 90's. Maybe TRX is set on level 4.
